Lightning Lane Guide

How It Works

Lightning Lane gives you a scheduled return time to skip the standby line. There are two types you’ll use:

• Lightning Lane Multi Pass Pick up to 3 attractions per day in advance. At MK, EPCOT, and HS you choose 1 from Tier 1 and 2 from Tier 2. Animal Kingdom has no tiers — pick any 3. Pricing varies by date and park.
• Lightning Lane Single Pass For the top, most in-demand rides not included in Multi Pass. You can buy up to 2 per day. These are a separate purchase on top of Multi Pass.

A third option (Premier Pass, $125–445/person/day) exists for walk-on access to everything — not relevant for this trip.

In-Park Strategy

• You start with 3 pre-booked Multi Pass selections
• After scanning into attraction #1 → book #4 immediately
• After scanning into #2 → book #5, and so on
• New bookings can be from any tier, even if you haven’t used your first Tier 1 yet
• This works across all four parks — book what’s available

Photo Perk

Multi Pass includes digital downloads of select ride photos and videos captured by Disney PhotoPass, plus access to PhotoPass Lenses. These are on top of the Memory Maker already included in our package.

Our Picks by Day

Day 2 — Wed Apr 22: Animal Kingdom + Magic Kingdom

AK has no tiers — pick any 3

• AK Multi Pass Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, Na’vi River Journey
• MK Single Pass TRON Lightcycle Run

Flight of Passage is also available as a Single Pass — grab it if Multi Pass times don’t work (sells out fast).

Day 3 — Thu Apr 23: EPCOT + Hollywood Studios

EPCOT & HS use tiers: 1 Tier 1 + 2 Tier 2

• EPCOT Multi Pass Tier 1: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
  Tier 2: Test Track, Ratatouille (or Frozen Ever After)
• HS Single Pass Rise of the Resistance

Booking Day: Tue Apr 14 at 7 AM

As a Disney Resort guest, you can book Lightning Lane passes 7 days before check-in for your entire stay. That’s April 14 at 7:00 AM EST for us.

Before April 14

• Confirm reservation is linked — check at disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan
• Connect everyone in Family & Friends list — in the My Disney Experience app, so you can book LL for all 5 travelers
• Save a credit card — My Disney Experience app → My Account → Payment Method
• Confirm valid theme park admission — all 5 travelers need valid tickets linked to MDE

At 7:00 AM on April 14

• Step 1
  Open My Disney Experience app

  Tap the Lightning Lane Passes section on the home screen
• Step 2
  Select a date and theme park

  Start with your highest-priority day (Wed Apr 22 — AK)
• Step 3
  Choose Multi Pass, Single Pass, or both

  Buy Multi Pass first, then add Single Pass for top rides (TRON, Rise of the Resistance)
• Step 4
  Select attractions and arrival windows

  See “Our Picks by Day” above for priorities
• Step 5
  Complete purchase and confirm
• Step 6
  Tap “Plan Another Day” and repeat

  Book all 3 Disney days (Apr 22, 23, and optionally Apr 21 evening)

Pricing

Lightning Lane pricing varies by date and park. Prices are displayed in the My Disney Experience app when you go to book. Multi Pass and Single Pass are separate purchases.
